Hello my friends! After a brief step away yesterday, we are back in Paris mode. Tonight's post is to try and help with that yearly dilemma... what to wear to a Christmas party. Why is it so difficult? It should be no different to any other night out but for some reason it puts the fear into me time and time again. I'm no stranger to a dress but I'm infinitely more comfortable in a top and trouser combo, which I'm sure I've spoken to you about many a time; I can kick my legs up in the air when I'm dancing (I can't say I've ever been so enthusiastic as to kick my leg up in the air when dancing but the option's there), I can bend down if I drop something, I can do many, many things in a trouser/top combo. So that's what I've went for today.

The trousers are one of the most flattering things I've ever worn, they suck you in in all the right places and lengthen your legs infinitely - I'm only five foot tall remember, and I think they make me look at least... five foot two. I've also worn them casually since this - which you'll see soon actually - and they look great with a big oversized jumper or with a shirt tucked in too. They seem to be sold out onsite at the moment, but Topshop do have a similar black pair at the moment which you can find here! Because it's Christmas, legally, you have to go for a bit of sparkle so I went for a heavily embroidered crop which I think would look amazing with many a pair of high waisted trousers; I want to give it a go with some wide legged ones next. Clothes-wise, I topped it all off with this velvet blazer which I think is incredibly lovely and festive and can be worn in so many ways and to finish i off completely I went for quite a dramatic make-up look - it's not often I go for a dark lip but I quite enjoyed it, great for hiding pasta sauce stains and red wine marks - and a fancy beehive. And, of course, some big ole platforms.

I won't have a new post tomorrow but there will be one last Parisian outfit with you on Wednesday. I hope this post helped at least one person out there with partywear dilemmas!
