I just wanted to say how incredibly overwhelmed I am at the number of responses I had to my last post. I'd been writing it and re-writing it for a couple of weeks and was really nervous about publishing it but everyone's responses have been amazing - I can't tell you how much every single one meant to to me. Some made me smile, some of them made me do a wee cry (although if we've established anything from my last post it's that I'm not exactly slow to cry); from struggles you've been through to struggles you're going through, sometimes I think all we need is to know that you're not alone in going through something. I've saved them all in a folder on my laptop to come back but for now I just want to say a really big, full-hearted thank you.

Today's post is a wee catch up on a few things I've been up to as of late. The first thing is melting. That's right, it hit a whopping 27 degrees in London on the day that clever Amy decided to wear a wool jumper. Scotland has ruined me and I forgot a cosy jumper might not be that appropriate for the rest of the UK in May. My face might look relatively composed but the veins on my hand tell a different story: this girl is one degree away from turning into a puddle. I had been really excited to wear my new jumper though so part of me is still really happy that that happened. Would not recommend as a beach cover-up though.
The second half is some snaps from a recent stay at The Blythswood Hotel in Glasgow. I've been there a few times for meetings but never to stay over, so when my Mam came over to visit last month the hotel very kindly had us in for a wee overnight stay. It's so very grand and they've had a whole load of exciting people stay there; from Mariah Carey to Paolo Nutini (why he keeps insisting on visiting places without me I'll never know). We started our stay with a lovely massage down at the spa, which is always welcome for my grandma back, and then came back up to the room for a wee gin before heading down for dinner. I've had food there a few times and it's never disappointed and they're always so, so accommodating when it comes to allergies and intolerances. We went back to our marshmallow bed for a luscious sleep and then got up relatively early - which we only do on very special occasions, like when a bacon sandwich is on the cards* - so we could squeeze in breakfast and another wee visit to the spa. It's a really lovely wee haven to escape to if you're in Glasgow looking for either somewhere to stay or for a nice relaxing spa day!

*My Mum has said she'd like me to tell you that it's the best bacon sandwich she's ever had. And she's had a lot of bacon sandwiches in her life.
