Allo! You may or may not have seen over on my Instagram that I was in Berlin to celebrate the launch of the new Omega Tresor watch recently, something I was incredibly proud to be a part of. I think the only person prouder, in fact, was my Dad, who's Omega's biggest fangirl (it doesn't hurt that our favourite spy - 007, not Johnny English - wears one too). Myself and my wee Kirsty arrived in Berlin the day before the event for a wander around, followed by a dinner with everyone who'd flown in for the event, before catching an early-ish night. The next morning it was All. Stations. Go. We met bright and early - and by that I mean 9:30am, but bright and early just sounds more impressive - for a tour of Berlin and a treasure hunt rolled into one. We all loaded onto our tour bus and had stops at Voo, Haha Huis and more, picking up clues along the way. The answer to each clue was a letter (I know, it's exciting isn't it) and the letters eventually spelled out... MIRROR. Oooh. 'But why?!' I hear you ask. I'll tell you soon, don't worry. We finished up the day with a Trabi Safari (if you you're unsure of what that is, don't worry, I only knew thanks to our friend Richard Ayoade - have a wee look here) with Kirsty, who only passed her test a couple of months ago, taking on the role of brave driver. And it was so much fun! I'd absolutely recommend it if you go to Berlin, even Kirsty had a ball after the colour returned to her face. After that we headed back to the hotel, clues in hand, to get ready for the event.

We arrived at the very-fittingly named Tresor nightclub in Berlin and were requested to give a password to the majestic lady you see in the hood above before we could enter. Which was, you guessed it... 'mirror'. Now, when a night begins with whispering 'mirror' to a hooded woman you know you're in for something special. We entered the space upstairs and I actually gasped like a character in a period drama. We had to walk through a maze like structure that was filled with mirrors, fairy lights and installations; there was a ballerina, there was a woman with Rapunzel-esque hair on a swing, there was a silent opera singer, there were two identical woman doing (temporary - don't worry, Mum) tattoos... it was like walking into the kind of dream you'd have after eating an awful lot of cheese. We walked through it at snails pace, making sure not to miss anything, and then chose ourselves a cocktail from the 'Past, Present or Future' bar and headed through to the main space thinking it couldn't get any better...

...Of course it did. We stepped into a fairytale land with a huge, golden-leaved tree, an entire floor covered with candles, cocktails in gas form that were to be inhaled through wall-mounted taps, a table filled to the brim with an Alice in Wonderland worthy dessert spread (that's where I decided I would base myself for the night) among more. We were then treated to a presentation from the face of the collection, the beautiful Kaia Gerber and from Raynald Aeschlimann, the president. Kaia's the daughter of none other than Cindy Crawford - who's been the face of the brand for over two decades - so it's really fitting that this new launch introduces another face from that wonderful, wonderful gene pool. The campaign was shot by the eternally cool Peter Lindburgh and showcases perfectly how Kaia encompasses what the brand and this new model is all about. We boogied the rest of the night away and the next morning I woke up half convinced it had all been an extravagant dream. I'm so incredibly thankful to have been part of such an unforgettable launch and so proud to be the mother, sorry, owner, of my very own Omega; my first ever 'grown-up' watch. I keep sneaking loving little glances at it every time I wear it - I haven't quite gone as far as to whisper sweet nothings to it but never say never.

I also wanted to show you how it looks with a more casual day-to-day outfit, so here we are! The face comes in two slightly different sizes and, despite having world's most childlike wrists I decided to go for the bigger size (the 39mm). I've always gravitated towards larger, more 'manly' watches over traditionally feminine ones but this one sits perfectly in between the two, with the delicate strap balancing out the oversized face so it's not too chunky. It feels both timeless and contemporary at the same time, which is no easy feat to achieve. There's diamond paving curving along each side of the face, a special mirrored caseback and a variety of straps to choose from. I went for the navy because it's so versatile - and because I can't seem to stay away from dark colours - but there are nine different models in the collection to suit each personality and taste, each making a really, really special piece. It's safe to say I'm even more enamoured than when I discovered Orlando Bloom (I was eleven, ok). Now, PLEASE... would someone ask me the time?
