Hey pals! Now, I've told a bit of a porker - the title of the post says 'guide' but really it's more 'a collection of photos with a few light recommendations thrown in' but that just didn't sound as catchy. I have family out in Palma so normally it's a bit more of a slow-paced, if-we-go-out-we-go-out type trip when I'm there and I don't often have my blog brain on. However, I popped out with Kirsty over summer and have lots of film photos from then, SO, I thought what I would do is share those along with a few recommendations for now in the hope that it would wet your whistle (what a horrible saying that is, sorry everyone) and then next Spring I'll make it my mission to go out and put together a proper guide, what do you reckon? We visit Palma, Soller and Deia on our trip so I've divided the post into those three sections!
Palma

Now, Palma's the main one I want to come back to and do a thorough guide for next year - that's where I'm normally in laid back family mode so don't have too much to share in the way of 'what to do' today. What I will say, however, is that you shouldn't miss the cocktails (the photo above is of a 'white margarita' which I still think about now) or the view from the rooftop of Sant Francesc - it's a hotel and, although I can only vouch for the drinks and the view, I've heard it's beautiful inside as well so that could definitely be one to file under 'where to stay'. Anyway, like I say, this post was more about the snaps and I promise (brownie promise) I will do a much, much more thorough guide next year.
Soller
Kirsty and I took the old train from Palma to Soller on this trip, which I've been wanting to do for a long time. It's absolutely something to add to your list if you haven't already - on top of this, make sure to pick up an orange juice at the station when you arrive in Soller (another drink I can't stop thinking about, if heaven were made of OJ it would taste like this). We stopped for gluten free cake - and more juice - at Restaurant Luna 36 which is another one to add to your list; it's down a really quiet wee side street (at least it was quiet when we were there) and you can choose to sit inside or out back in the lovely courtyard.

Deia
Oh, Deia. This was my second time visiting and I very possibly shouted 'WOW!' even more than my last visit; it's one of the most beautiful towns I've been to and feels like you could bump into Belle from Beauty and the beast at any moment (I know that was France before anyone's like 'oh god... are you telling her or am I', but the quaint, magical feel is there I promise). It's very small so you can absolutely go for a day trip - it's about a two hour bus ride from Palma and was, from memory, a bargainous 6e. Two places I would say to go to are S'Hortet which serves up some amazing food (gluten free/vegan available) and fresh juices and is absolutely worth it for the picturesque outdoor seating area alone. Also La Residencia for the most incredible view and setting, I can guarantee it'll make you do at least one gasp (you might do a second when you see the price of a G&T but it's worth it for the view I promise)
