Which naughty puppy said they'd post on Sunday and then never did? That's right, it's me. I do apologise, I like to be woman of my word but a few things popped up - read: a last minute lunch. It had to be something to do with food didn't it - and I got waylaid. But I do have two outfits for you today so I hope you'll forgive me!

So, a few months back I asked what kind of things you'd like to see more of around these parts of town and a good number of you said 'ways to wear' posts. And that, my friends, is what we have today. I picked up this All Saints coat recently and thought it'd be a good one to start with as it's probably similar to something we all have in our wardrobes but have maybe got a wee bit bored of/need new ways to style. All Saints do a great coat and this one is no exception - it's light enough that you can wear it throughout Spring (Scottish Spring anyway and, let's face it, probably Summer too) but also a great one for layering during Winter. This was shot in New York in February when it was still pretty chilly so for my first look I popped it on over a polo neck* and tucked it in some tailored culottes which are another of my most worn items (you may remember them from this post here). My trusty patent ankle boots were added, then a beret that I picked up whilst we were out there - my wee arsehole of a PT text me and asked why I was wearing a finish line on my head so I ate an extra brownie that day just to spite him - and a really subtle red scarf.

* I really, really love a polo neck under a tailored jacket. Especially on a man but, alas, I am not one of those. I realise this is utterly pointless information but I just felt a strong urge to share it.

Look two is a little more understated and is very much an every-day outfit for me. I definitely do seem to like dressing like a war time child or the artful dodger (if he was into red boots) but what can you do. This body from Free People has been a wee staple in my wardrobe since I bought it; it's the nicest, nicest material - a little on the sucky-in side too which comes in very handy on pasta-eating days - and is also good for layering under jumpers or dungarees. This time round, however, I wore it with my checked trousers, which you may actually remember from this outfit - just in case you have something similar and want another way to style them. I don't normally wear a belt but this day it just felt right (there she goes again with her pointless information).

And there we have it! One coat, two ways. If you'd like to see more posts like this then write me a postcard or send me a pigeon. Failing that, please do leave a wee comment below.
