So, a couple of weeks ago you may remember me saying I was going down to London for an exciting shoot. Well.. here it is! The behind the scenes that is, anyway. Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant - to give it it's Sunday name - was my first ever venture into the world of beauty. Ish. I was on holiday when I was around six and burnt the skin under my eyes (why does that always burn when you're a child?) and that evening my Mum tried every lotion and potion under the sun to sooth my skin while I lay there screaming my head off until my lovely neighbour popped her head over the balcony and said, 'sunburn? Try 8 hour cream, I use it on my daughter and it's the only thing that works'. And - low and behold - it soothed the skin and baby Amy was left happy once more. My Mum was probably cursing me under her breath for having such expensive taste in skincare at the tender age of six but that's a different story.

Anyway, since then it's been one of my travel essentials - it's my best friend on a long haul flight. I usually use it for my lips, wee bits of dry skin (elbows, hands, around the eyes, you know the drill) but what I love most about it is that, since talking to other people, I've realised it's one of those products that we all have not only our own 'discovery story' but our own uses for it too. To tame flyaways and dry ends, to shape brows, to smooth cuticles, on dry heels.. it's so nice to hear how different a product it is for every person. So, when I was asked to be a part of this shoot with Elizabeth Arden and Sheer Luxe - and in the beautiful Artist's Residence Hotel, too - I was over the moon! We put together a little video with tips for packing for a short break which I'll pop below for you if you'd like to give it a wee watch and you can watch the full version with lots of amazing ladies here. Also, if you have your own story as to how you discovered the product (nostaglic or not!) or you own use for it let me know as it's so lovely to hear them.
