Hello friends! Today's post leads on from my first St Lucia post and is all about Jade Mountain; Anse's big sister and the most beautiful hotel I've stayed at. I've been lucky enough to stay at some amazing hotels in the world, but nothing can prepare you for how impressive Jade Mountain is. When we stepped into our room I think I let out a squeal that sounded somewhere in between a baby pig and your gran seeing you after a long time apart. Breathtaking is not a word I use lightly (unless we're talking pizza, then I use it all the time) but breathtaking it is. From the moment you walk up to the colourful reception through a Jurassic Park like entrance - seriously, I think we sang the theme tune a record number of times during our stay - and spot The Pitons just hanging out in the background.

It follows the same concept as Anse - no doors, windows or glass - so the entire front half of your room is completely open. Oh, and looks out across The Pitons. No biggie. The room has everything you could ever need or want; from yoga mats to a big four poster bed, to a jacuzzi bath that overlooks the same view as the pool, oh yeah, AN INFINITY POOL, sun loungers... I was on the verge of locking myself in and refusing to come out ever. Which, to be fair, you could actually do. For the duration of your stay anyway. We spent the evening with some champagne and enjoyed the sunset from the pool (the entire time I was waiting for the moment I'd wake up and find myself in bed back in Glasgow discovering that, as suspected all along, it was just a wonderful - and very extravagant - dream).

In the evening we did toy with the idea of eating in the room, but decided to wander up to the restaurant and see what it was like there. Spoiler: well worth it. The food is beautiful and the atmosphere is so perfectly holiday-like and relaxing, with low lights and a live band. After filling ourselves suitably with scallops and many a dessert, we headed back to the room to find that our butler (oh yes, you, um, you get your own personal butler with the room) had arranged for a bubble bath to be filled. I was already a little overwhelmed and then saw the heart shaped swan towels on the bed... that's when I decided that this was the most wonderful place on earth. The service is completely and utterly out in this world. and the whole time you're there you really do feel like you're in a dream world. The loveliest thing about it is, much like Anse Chastanet, there's absolutely no pretension or flashiness about it, despite the price tag. It's a completely one of a kind hotel and if you're looking for somewhere to stay for an anniversary, a honeymoon or just for a special trip then I honestly, truly couldn't recommend it more. It's especially perfect in those dark Winter months to escape to for some Caribbean sun and relaxation! Read a little more about it here.
