A Look Inside The Dorchester

The Little Magpie The Dorchester - Amber-Rose Photography 195

I honestly don’t even know where to start with this. I feel kind of like Alice when she fell down that hole; my stay at The Dorchester felt like falling into a wonderful dream and, once my twenty four hours were up and I was popped back out into the cold, harsh light of day I was left with a strong feeling that none of it ever actually happened. I’m sure it needs no introduction, so I'll just get stuck right in. Here we go:

Pulling up to The Dorchester is like bumping into Ryan Gosling*, it's so beautiful you're actually lost for word (and a little breathless). After ogling the many beautiful cars outside, I was taken up to my suite and the only word that can cover it is jawdropping. That's right. It had living and dining room, big beautiful marble bathroom and a suite that was fit for a princess (I'm looking at you, four poster bed of dreams). On the table as a welcome was a spread made up of all my favourite things in life; fruit, cake and champagne. However, I had a little spa appointment to attend to so I pinched a quick grape and made my way down. The spa is everything you’d expect and more; relaxing, elegant and classic. Basically the exact opposite of me. I was taken in to get my pedicure and my jaw actually dropped. Now, I wouldn’t say I’m an openly expressive person (I keep it all bottled up like a good British person should) but the 90% of the time I spent at the Dorchester was with my mouth hanging open. The entire room’s walls were lined with Essie nail polishes. How the flip’s a girl to choose? In the end I went down the disco toes route with a black toe overlayed with a sassy silver glitter. The entire appointment lasted an hour and was ridiculously thorough; I left feeling like a new elegantly-toed woman. And so I headed back up to the room – flips flops in tow – and ogled a little more whilst I waited for my little Amby to arrive.

* This, sadly, is yet to happen to me

After she’d done the same thing as me and walked around going, ‘oh my god’ for a good ten minutes or so, we got ready for the evening and popped open the champagne, enjoying it with a view right across Hyde Park. Once we’d caught up and indulged sufficiently in some champers, we headed down to the bar and let the fun continue. However, I shall save that part for a post of its own and skip onto breakfast which was, quite possibly, the highlight of the stay.

Myself and Amby had a total feast to ourselves all from the comfort of our own room. The table can be set up anwhere you like, we went for the bay window so it would be nice and light. There was everything you could ever imagine, from pastries to pancakes (which can be made gluten free) to eggs and everything in between. It's possibly the most attractive sight I've ever seen. Now, I'll wrap it up there because I'm too distracted by the sight of that breakfast to continue. Stay tuned for part ii coming soon!

Once again, thank you to The Dorchester for such a wonderful stay!
