One dress, three ways

Allo, allo! How are we all? I do realise you're not really in a position where you can answer me so I'm going to hope the answer is great, fantastic, couldn't be better. Today's post is one of my favourite kinds.. you guessed it, three ways to wear. I've decided to go down the route of day look, night look and - curveball - beach look. The item I'll be styling is this lovely little slip dress from New Look, which fits in wonderfully with the 90s trend that's big this Spring/Summer. As we all know, my very very favourite kind of clothing is pieces that you can throw on and put a look together without much effort. Laziness prevails! Slips are truly perfect for this, plus they're nice and loose so you don't even need to worry about what pants you're wearing; VPL worries be gone! So, first up is the day look.

Scotland hasn't quite got the memo that it's April yet and it's absolutely freezing, so I decided to layer (me) up (Scotty). I popped a little cropped jumper on top - so soft it's unbelievable - and then a bomber jacket on top again which, good news my fellow shorts ass', is from the petite range. I popped this fringed rucksack on with it, which I'm actually getting very into these days. My back's not great so I've been giving it a break from over shoulder bags as much as I can. Ah, old age. What lark it is. The boots were a real find: they're comfortable, fit tight at the ankle and are a nice, sociable height. I don't mean to brag but I walked over cobblestones in them no problem.

The second look is where the party really starts. I didn't layer up this time because the dress has that b-e-a-utiful lace neckline which is perfect for adding a bit of jazz to a night-time look. I paired it with a khaki suede biker jacket, which is actually my favourite thing that's entered my wardrobe in a long time (so much more expensive looking than it is, innit?) and finished it off with these sha-frickin-mazing lace up heels which, again, are so much more expensive looking than they really are (hello £25). Unless it's a very special occasion, I don't like too high a heel on a night out - see old age comment above - so these are exactly the right height for me.

LOOK 3: BEACHWEAR

Last but not least, the beach look. As we know, I travel quite a bit, and the beach is somewhere my 'chuck-on' needs come in to play particularly strong, so a slip dress is perfect. I wore it over the top of what has to be the most badass Bond-babe-esque bikini I've ever laid eyes on. The studs, the strap detailing.. oh mumma. It's all there. It also comes in white which, yes, I own as well. I wore it with some chunky sandals just to give it a bit more oomph (such a good word) than my usual bog standard flip flips.

And there we have it, I hope you liked this post and that you, too, enjoy a good three ways to wear as much as I do. Let me know which of the looks is your favourite!
