Barbados Round II

From the Maldives to Barbados.. your poor eyes, I know. Once I'd left the beautiful Tamarind Hotel (check the post out here) I trotted on to the Hilton. Now, there was a bit of a mix-up and they'd lost my booking, so the first night and following morning were spent trying to resolve that, so there aren't quite as many pictures as I'd have liked to share as I didn't have much time to enjoy the hotel, but there's still a good few in there for you to perve over.

And then we have the view from my room, which was Incredible (with a capital I)...

Now, the sunset photo. I've been wanting to see a green flash (read a little about them here, Wiki can explain better than I ever could #science) for so, so long and it only went and happened that day. On. My. Birthday. What a gift mother nature, thank you. I didn't get a picture of it because I wanted to enjoy it with me own eyes but, seriously, it's one of the most beautiful things. That was just pure luck, but the Hilton is situated in an absolutely perfect place for catching sunsets.

The Hilton sits right on Brownes beach which is absolutely uh-mazing, proper beach goals right there, and is also one that a lot of locals told me was their favourite beach (this is how I bond with people; bring up our mutual love of beaches). It's in a great location if you're wanting to get your tourist on as well, about a ten minute walk from George Washington's House and about a fifteen minute walk from the Barbados Museum and Historical Society. I didn't do them this time round as I'd already ticked them off the list on my last trip, and also mainly because I was very intent on being a beach bum. I walked right along the beach to Bridgetown (the capital of Barbados, see some snaps above), which takes around 20 minutes, and then came back and went right along in the other direction, human-heart-eye-emoji-ing the entire time at the beautiful white sand beaches.

This was the sweetest little old couple who walked the entire length of the beach just in front of me. If they didn't look so cute and loved up I'd have been right up there third wheeling with them.

Sadly, that brings this post to a close. Beautiful though, innit? Big thank you again to the Hilton Barbados Resort for having me stay (and thank you again mother nature for the gift of green flash). All photos taken on my Olympus Pen.
