It's Disney, bitch.

I kept putting off doing my Disney post as I knew that then I'd have to admit that it was over but, a month and a bit down the line, I think it's finally time to let go. Here goes...

First up, my favourite: food. Rob's family bought us both meal tickets for the five days for my birthday, so we were lucky enough to get to try out quite a few of the restaurants. Walts was absolutely amazing, but Blue Lagoon was my absolute favourite. I actually had the best meal I've ever had there - the caribbean chicken - so now when they taste things on Masterchef and say things like, "My GOD, these flavours just explode in your mouth", I can nod along in agreement, knowing that my palette too has been graced with such an experience. The only place where the food wasn't amazing was Cafe Mickey, but it's great if you have kids as they can meet all the characters and get their autographs. I, on the other hand, have always been terrified of people dressed up in suits and, sadly, finished my lunch by screaming in the face of an unassuming human- squirrel. He did sneak up behind me and put his big furry paw on my shoulder though, anyone would have been shocked. There's also lots of carts dotted about the park selling freshly made popcorn and toffee apples so, unless you're about to go on Space Mountain, make sure and stop off at one of them.

A few snaps from around the park - the last one was taken inside the pink castle, where the stained glass windows tell the story of Sleeping Beauty, it's definitely worth a visit if you get the chance. It was my first time in Disney and, having always wanted to go since I was a child, I got overwhelmed the first time I walked into the park and accidentally started crying. IN MY DEFENCE, it really is magical.

One of the many sweet shops/dream factories.

The Disney Dreams show - if you visit during the 20th anniversary year make sure and catch it. I won't spoil it for you but I will tell you that it might make you cry a little bit. Yes, I was an emotional wreck 80% of my trip.

Inside the Rainforest Cafe, which is pretty expensive so, if you're tight on money but would still like to visit, I'd recommend just getting a drink or a dessert. I had the Toblerone cake and a coke and got hit with an elephant's trunk halfway through the meal. It was wonderful.

A couple of the cocktails we sampled during our time there. The top ones were special 20th anniversary ones and came with colour-changing ice cubes and dry ice. I cried again when they were brought out because they were so beautiful. JUST KIDDING. The bottom ones were from, you guessed, Planet Hollywood and if you paid an extra 4 euros you could keep the glass, so we came home with a selection of new crockery.

I didn't get any photos of the rides because I was too hyped up and excited to work a camera when I was around them but I'd recommend Tower of Terror if you like ones that make your belly go funny and Rock n' Rollercoaster if you like fast 'uns. Even if you don't you should still give them a try. Just bring a spare pair of pants.
